CMS rule status

Current, checkable, not a claim you have to trust

MsJaneHH isn't a set of hardcoded forms. It's built from CMS's own published OASIS-E2 item dictionary and submission specification. Here's exactly what that looks like today.

Current OASIS version
OASIS-E2 · effective 2026-04-01
Data specification
V3.02.0
Ruleset version
oasis-e2-v2026.04.01

404

Active OASIS-E2 item codes, generated directly from CMS's own official data dictionary — not a hand-picked simplified subset.

9 active rules as of 2026-07-23

Required-field, consistency, skip-logic, and payment-impact checks currently running. Every rule carries a citation — none run without one. This count grows as coverage expands; check the date above against today's.

Retired items

Items CMS removed in the E2 revision (e.g. COVID-19 vaccination status, the old Gender item) are confirmed absent from the current ruleset, not just ignored in the UI.

What "checkable" means here

Every item code and rule citation traces back to CMS's own published OASIS-E2 Data Submission Specifications and Guidance Manual. We're not asking you to trust a vendor's summary of CMS requirements — the source documents are public, and our mapping to them is exact enough to name specific item codes, not just section names.

Coverage, stated honestly: 404 items covers the OASIS-E2 assessment item group across all time points — Start of Care, Resumption of Care, Recertification, Transfer, and Discharge. Rule coverage across those items is expanding; a rule not yet built doesn't mean an item is ignored, it means that specific consistency or payment-impact check hasn't been added yet. We'd rather tell you what's covered today than imply full coverage before it exists.
